Hi, I’m Casey! As a former professional dressage rider and coach, my interest and experience in health and fitness is deep-rooted. Throughout my equestrian career I used strength training, yoga and Pilates to get the edge in my performance, prevent injuries, manage my weight and stay conditioned. I have always been passionate about teaching and helping others, so alongside my riding career I became qualified as a yoga and Pilates teacher, and did my personal training qualifications. I now work full time in the fitness industry and help riders and non-riders become the strongest, healthiest version of themselves.
With 15 years coaching experience, I am skilled in communicating the right sensations and “feel” required for correct technique so you can obtain a feeling of mastery over your movement. I believe precision in movement is the key to unlocking its benefits, therefore my classes are highly informative so you know exactly where your body needs to be to have the right effect. I aim to empower you with a comprehensive understanding of why and how we do movements, so you don’t just follow instruction but instead have a deep awareness of what is happening in your body. I can safely challenge and motivate you to dig a little deeper so that you believe in yourself and can push your ability to greater heights, all whilst maintaining a sense of ease and calm.
Pilates and strength training is the perfect combination for physical and mental wellness. Pilates helps mobility and flexibility, as well as targeting deep stabilising muscles for injury prevention and is very approachable for those starting a movement practice. Strength training builds muscle, which is imperative for metabolic health, bone density, weight management and longevity.
I am particularly skilled in training equestrian athletes as I have first-hand experience of what riders need to be effective in the saddle, as well as explaining the crossover between strength and movement in the gym and how it relates to being in the saddle.
